Geological Details
The showing is located on Missi Island approximately 400 ft (122.0 m) east of the south end of Hannay Bay. The showing consists of four drill holes totalling 1027 ft (313 m) completed over a north-south length of 800 ft (243.8 m) on the Joe Brain Property and a later 5 drill holes completed on the same zone by Hudson Bay Exploration and Development. The drill holes intersected quartz-feldspar porphyry (part of the JMB porphyry dome complex) containing commonly 1 to 5% pyrite and up to 1% chalcopyrite. The sulphides occur in thin stringers in association with carbonatized and silicified rock. The best intersections are: DRILLHOLE INTERSECTION WIDTH OUNCES/TON PCT PCT PCT TRUE HOST NUMBER (FT.) Samples assayed from 1.55 to 1.95% Cu, 0.22 to 0.40 oz./ton Ag and 0.04 oz./ton Au. Drill hole no. 8, which was drilled on BEN no.25 claim intersected mineralization that ran 0.02 oz./ton Au, 1.26 oz./ton Ag and 0.1% Cu over 4.1 and 2.2 ft (1.2 and 0.7 m). This mineralization is located approximately 7,600 ft (2,316 km) northeast of SMDI. 0135 and approximately 6,900 ft (2,103 m) north of SMDI. 0136.

Exploration History
8/4/1988 The showing was first discovered by J. Brain in 1968 on ML 5055 (formerly the BIG claims). Mr. Brain located and trenched a series of the quartz feldspar hosted Cu-Mo showings on the west side of Missi Island around 1968. The showing was diamond drilled in 1971 by J.M.B. Canadian Explorations Ltd. Four holes totalling 1027 ft (313 m) were completed on the showing. The diamond drilling intersected the mineralized zone detailed above (AF 63L09-0167). It is reported that Teck Corporation had optioned the property from J. Brain and drilled these holes while the property was under option. In 1972, Hudson Bay Exploration and Development optioned the property from J. Brain. Hudson Bay completed ground turam and ABEM surveys (AF 63L09-0185) and a further 8 holes (MISSI-1 to 8) into the zone (AF 63L09-0186 and 0190). Assays returned up to 1.0% Cu over narrow widths. On January 16, 1988, SMDC staked the showing as ML 5055. On 1 July 1993, Claude Resources Inc. restaked the showing as S-102296. In 1995, Claude completed prospecting and rock sampling at the showing (AF 63L09-0398). Grab samples 97511 and 97512, taken at the showing, returned up to 410 ppb Au and 5400 ppm Cu. In 1997, Claude completed mapping, prospecting, and rock sampling on the claim (AF 63L09-0421). The claim was allowed to lapse on 1 December, 1998.
