Geological Details
The outcrop showing consists of sulphide mineralization which is located on the southeast shore of Tulabi Lake. W. Padgham, who discovered the showings during a geological mapping program, described the showing as as disseminated sulphides within calc-silicate gneiss. In 1994, R. Maxeiner re-mapped the host rocks as Unit MI or dark green, fine- to medium-grained, finely layered to laminated mafic hornblende gneiss. Maxeiner feels the rocks were derived from mafic volcaniclastics and volcanogenic sedimentary rocks. Exploration History
8/9/1988 The showing was noted by W.A. Padgham while mapping the area in 1968. In 1982, SMDC flew an INPUT survey that covered the showing area (AF 63L11-0045). By 1984, Granges Exploration AB had staked the area as CBS 3207. In this year, Granges completed ground EM surveys over the Big 19 grid (AF 63L11-0044). This survey covered the showing. In 1985, Granges completed 3 drill holes in the general showing area (AF 63L11-0058). Drill hole BS-143 intersected 0.5% Zn between 16.5 and 19.5 m and drill hole BS-144 intersected 0.5% chalcopyrite between 23.8 and 24.8 m.
