- Geological Details
- The showing consists of several drill holes completed on east-southeast trending conductors on the southern end of Lower Waddy Lake.
The drill holes intersected garnetiferous quartz-biotite-hornblende gneiss containing bands, a few feet wide, of 10 to 50% pyrrhotite and 5 to 10% pyrite assaying 0.01 to 0.08% Cu, 0.01 to 0.29% Zn and 0.05% Ni.
In holes 39 and 40 under the lake, peridotite and serpentinite, mineralized with bands of up to a few feet in width, of 5 to 20% magnetite returned assays of 0.01% to 0.07% Cu, 0.01 to 0.15% Cu and 0.15 to 0.22% Ni.
(0.22% Ni over 1.0 to 3.0 m., 0.29% Zn over 0.05 m.)

In 1984, C. Harper mapped the south end of Waddy Lake as being underlain by a series of basalts to andesites, with intercalated volcanogenic sediments which have been intruded by a series of strongly serpentized, thinly layered peridotitic to pyroxenitic bodies.

- Exploration History
- 7/21/1989 In 1972, Granges Exploration Aktiebolag completed 5 drill holes on east-southeast trending conductors on the southern end of Lower Waddy Lake, then covered by CBS 2220 (AF 64D04-0058). The holes, totalling 858 ft (261.5 m), intersected the lithologies discussed above. Samples were taken and returned the assays listed above.
On 21 February 1981, the showing was staked as CBS 6425. In 1981, SMDC completed a regional lake sediment sample program in the showing area (AF 73P16-0037). In 1982, a SMDC-Golden Rule Resources-Energy Reserves Canada Ltd. joint venture partnership completed reconnaissance lake seiment sampling (AF 73P16-0039), geological mapping, prospecting and sampling over the general showing area (AF 73P16-0038). This work led to the discovery of the Kidney Lake Gold Showing.
In 1983, SMDC completed further mapping, prospecting and soil sampling on the property (AF 73P16-0063).
On 1 July 1993, CBS 6425 was allowed to lapse. On September 3 1997, Uranerz Exploration and Mining Limited staked the showing area as S-102759.
On 1 February 1998, S-102759 was allowed to lapse.
