- The drill holes which constitute this showing in the Pillow Lake area. This is a small lake located 0.8 mile (1.3 km) southeast of the narrows on Nistoassini Lake.
The showing consists of a series of drill holes which intersected pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and occasional magnetite mineralization within dacitic to andesitic volcanics and quartz-sericite-biotite schist. The drill holes were completed to intersect several extensive east-trending electromagnetic conductors on both sides of Nistoassin Lake.
Two drill holes totalling 1904 ft (580 m) were completed in 1973 on the west shore of the narrows on two separate conductors. Assays returned values of 0.1 to 0.3% Zn, 0.02 to 0.08% Ni and 0.1% Cu. One 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) band of galena, sphalerite and up to 2% pyrite in drill hole Vet No. 2 returned 0.27 oz/ton Ag, 0.01 oz/ton Au, 0.1 to 0.2% Zn and 0.3% Pb.
Fifteen holes totalling 8753 ft (2668 m) were drilled in 1974. Four of the holes were located on the extension of the Discovery Lake pyrite- pyrrhotite zone, one was located west of the narrows, three were located east of the narrows and the remaining seven holes were drilled on a 1600 ft (488 m) long, east-trending conductor between Nistoassini and Pillow Lakes. The eleven holes intersected andesitic to dacitic volcanics, tuffs and breccias and derived quartz-sericite-biotite schist and gneisses of Archean age. Mineralization consists of disseminated pyrrhotite-pyrite-chalcopyrite-magnetite mineralization. Typical assays returned 0.01 to 0.6% Zn, 0.1 to 0.42 oz/ton Ag, 0.01 to 0.04 oz/ton Au, 0.1 to 0.3% Cu and 0.07% Ni. Interesting intersections were:

In 1985, C. Harper mapped the sequence of rocks which host the mineralization as an intercatated succession of unit Rag or rhyolites and agglomerates and unit Dt or dacite tuffs.

- 6/14/1988 Sulphide mineralization was first noted in the area in 1929 by H Niven and G Fontaine, who discovered the Churchill Minerals Deposit on Lower Nostoassini Lake. In 1936, Churchill Minerals optioned this property to Hudson Bay Exploration and Development.
From 1952 to 1953, The Mining Corporation of Canada Ltd prospected the general area. From 1958 to 1959, the showing area was under the Augustus Withdrawl. Augustus completed prospecting and an airborne EM and magnetic survey over the general area. In 1959, Westfield Minerals completed reconnaissance mapping over the area and in 1961, Hydra Minerals prospected the entire area.
In 1969, W. Johnston conducted a regional geochemical sampling program over the area for the province of Saskatchewan.
In 1973, the Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company of Canada Ltd. conducted a ground electromagnetic survey on its CBS 927 (formerly the VET claims), covering the Lower Nistoassini-Pillow Lakes area. Several extensive conductors were outlined. Two drill holes were completed that same year on the west shore of the narrows. The Vet Zone or SMDI 474 was discovered by this drilling. These holes returned the assays listed above (AF 64D05-0052).
The following year, fifteen holes totalling 8753 ft (2668 m) were completed and returned the assays listed above (AF 64D05-0060). In 1974, C.T. Harper geologically mapped the showing area for the province of Saskatchewan. In 1982, Golden Rule Resources flew a high resoultion aeromagnetic survey that covered the showing area.
In 1984, Hudson Bay Exploration and Development completed a ground magnetic survey and humus sampling on the VET 1 and 2 grids (AF 64D05-0087). By now, CBS 927 had been converted to ML 5319.
In 1987, Hudson Bay Exploration and Development completed a ground VLF-EM and magnetic survey over the zone (AF 64D05-0095).
Between 1987 and 1988, Mingold Resources Inc. completed 21 drill holes on the Vet Zone.
In the summer of 1993, a Mingold Resources Inc.-Golden Band Resources Inc. option completed a gold exploration involving overburden stripping, trenching, and bulk till and rock chip sampling in the immediate showing area (AF 64D05-0114). Sample C4, taken from trench 1, returned 500 ppb Au and sample C28, taken from trench 8, returned 370 ppb Au.
