Geological Details
The mineralization comprising the showing consists of up to 45% chalcopyrite, lesser pyrite, and minor pyrrhotite, malachite and bornite in amounts of up to 30%, in lenses and pods in a sheared and fractured zone of basaltic and dioritic metavolcanics which strikes 069° to 070° and dips 80°NW. This zone is 1500 ft (457 m) south of, and parallel to, a granitic intrusive contact. The mineralization is exposed in the trenches over an average width of 6 ft (1.8 m) with a maximum width of up to 14 ft (4.3 m) and a length of 2800 ft (1463 m). The mineralization appears to be related to, and controlled by, the fracturing which crosscuts the silicified shear zone. A second small showing 1000 ft (304.8 m) to the northeast on the shore of a small lake was reported over a width of 2 ft (0.6 m) and a length of 31 ft (9.4 m). Minor disseminations of pyrite, chalcopyrite, cobaltite and annabergite (trench 7) were noted at this second location. The granitic rocks in the area have a high magnetic signature due to large numbers of magnetite inclusions. Twenty-two samples were taken from 11 trenches on the mineralized zone over a length of 2800 ft (853 m). Two grab sample assays returned 0.54% Cu, 0.04% Ni, 0.12% Co, 0.01 oz./ton Au and trace Ag. A second grab sample, taken from trench 7 at the second showing, returned 320 ppm Co. Twenty chip samples over 5 ft (1.5 m) widths gave 0.03 to 1.61% Cu although the assays averaged less than 0.4% Cu. In 1985, Studer re-sampled trenches 1 to 4 and assayed for gold the samples returned between 0.007 and 0.020 oz./ton Au. The better samples returned the following assays: SAMPLE TRENCH PPB PPB PPM PPM PPM PPM SAMPLE NUMBER NUMBER AU AG CU NI CO AS GEOLOGY _____________________________________________________________________________ 7383-1 1 0.010* --- --- --- --- --- mafic dyke 8383-4 2 0.020* --- --- --- --- --- mafic dyke 10649 2 380 2300 16000 80 55 --- meta-diorite: cpy 7383-5 3 0.007* --- --- --- --- --- mafic dyke 7383-2 4 0.008* --- --- --- --- --- mafic dyke 7383-3 4 0.012* --- --- --- --- --- mafic dyke 10648 4 184 1160 9900 730 320 --- meta-andesite: po,cpy 10646 5 174 460 4600 42 51 88 meta-andesite: mal,asp 10647 7 450 2300 17000 80 73 --- meta-diorite: cpy, mal,az * denotes a gold assay in oz./ton D.J. Thomas mapped the showing area as being underlain by Central Metavolcanic Belt unit I1 or meta-andesitic to metadacitic foliated and massive flows, flow breccias, and feldspar-porphyritic flows which have been intruded by the Bernatski Bay metadiabase to metagabbro dyke swarm (unit B3).

Exploration History
7/20/1988 In 1969, Studer Mines Ltd. Staked CBS 1650 to cover a showing on Hayman Lake discovered the previous year. This was followed by magnetometer, electromagnetic, IP, chargability, self potential resistivity and prospecting surveys over the area (AF 73P10-0066). Samples were taken and returned the assays listed above. On 1 June 1983, Durama Enterprises Limited staked the showing as CBS 7383. In 1985, Durama completed prospecting, geological mapping and trench and rock sampling on the showing (AF 73P10-0092). In the same year, Durama completed ground EM and magnetic surveys over the showing (AF 73P10-0086). In 1986, D. Thomas geologically mapped the NTS sheet at 1:20,000 for the Saskatchewan Geological Survey. In 1988, Noranda Exploration Company Limited optioned CBS 7383 and completed ground magnetic and IP/resistivity surveys over the showing area (AF 73P10-0121). Geological investigations and rock, soil and humus sampling were completed to the southeast of the showing in the same year (AF 73P10-0124). No significant results were returned. In 1989, Noranda completed drill holes HAY89-1 and 2, well to the northeast of the showing to test areas of high chargeability (AF 73P10-0138). Drill hole HAY89-1 intersected the Au-Cu mineralization described in SMDI 2497.
