- Geological Details
- The showing is located on the west shore of a small un-named lake which is located slightly east of Sepratist Lake or 1.25 miles (2.01 km)northeast of the northeast tip of Olson Lake.
The G. Ray mapped the area between these lakes as being underlain by Rottenstone Domain metasedimentary unit 5a or cordierite-bearing migmatitic gneisses which have a hornblende-biotite±diopside or meta-arkosic paleosome. Locally, this sequence of gneisses contains interbeds of graphitic iron-rich pelites and semipelites.
The showing consists of several large gossan zones occurring on the property, overlying large, conformable, pyrrhotite-rich zones in quartzites and sedimentary gneisses. These zones vary in width from a few feet to tens of feet and from a few hundred to several thousand feet in length. Pyrrhotite varies from 1 to 2% and is common and locally abundant.
Sample assays from three drill holes gave 0.01 to 0.03% Cu and 0.01 to 0.03% Ni. The only chalcopyrite reported was encountered in a narrow shear zone exposed on BELLA claim no. 3.
The area has been trenched and the trenches exposed disseminated pyrrhotite and pyrite mixed with graphite. The third trench, sunk in sedimentary gneisses, exposes almost massive pyrrhotite intermixed with minor pyrite and scattered grains of chalcopyrite. The zone is up to 25 ft (7.6 m) wide by 5600 ft (1706.9 m) long, although narrower where trenched.

- Exploration History
- 7/22/1988 The BELLA 1-3 claims were located between two small lakes 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of the southwestern most bay of Topping Lake. The western of the two lakes is Sepratist Lake.
In 1957 the Canadian Nickel Company Limited optioned the BELLA Claims from the owner, G. Miller and conducted ground magnetometer and electromagnetic surveys. These surveys outlined several northeast-trending anomalies. Follow-up drilling resulted in 3 holes, totalling 1275 ft (389 m), which intersected Archean quartzite, sedimentary gneiss, granodiorite gneiss and pegmatite. Samples were assayed, resulting in the discovery of the showing.
In 1975 the Don Fisher Syndicate conducted ground EM surveys in the area between the two lakes to outline several northeast-trending airborne conductors. Trenching on the outlined ground anomalies followed in three areas, and revealed the lithologies discussed above.
No further work was reported on the showing.
