Geological Details
The showing is located 600 ft (182.9 m) west of the southwest end of Upper Foster Lake and 0.25 mile (0.40 km) east of the north tip of Middle Foster Lake. The showing is 0.4 mile (0.64 km) west of SMDI 0973 or CBS 600 Molybdenum Showing No. 2. In 1981, G. Ray mapped the gneisses which host the showing as Daly Lake Group garnet-cordierite-sillimanite gneiss. In 1981, G. Ray remapped the same gneisses as a band of Upper Wollaston Group calcareous Meta-arkose (containing up to 10% tremolite-actinolite±diopside) with significant interlayered calc-silicate assemblage rocks which contain tremolite-actinolite±albite±diopside±scapolite±talc±calcite). The showing, as exposed, consists of N30°E and 5°to 65°NW dipping pegmatite dykes cutting and containing inclusions of a pegmatitic migmatite facies of garnet-biotite gneiss of the Aphebian Wollaston Group. The showing white pegmatite dyke parallels the local strike and dip. Although the dyke is radioactive across its width, it is more stained and radioactive where more quartz-rich (along the northwest, or hangingwall side) and near biotite-rich inclusions. The radioactivity is confined to a 35 by 25 ft (10.7 by 7.6 m) area. Minor molybdenite, pyrite and chalcopyrite have been noted.

Exploration History
9/7/1988 In 1953, Gateway Uranium Mines Ltd. noted minor pyrite-chalcopyrite-molybdenum mineralization and uranium stain in a 25 by 10 ft outcrop of white pegmatite 600 ft west of the shore of Upper Foster Lake on the north boundary of the S-17983 claim in the Foster Lake claim group. The adjoining property held by Wright Hargreaves Mines Ltd. also reported the showing. Ground radiometric and geological surveys were reported at that time. In 1957, J.B. Mawdsley mapped the showing as being exposed over a 35 by 25 ft area. In 1967, the area was covered as part of the Foster Lake Mines Ltd. CBS 600. Geological and radiometric surveys were carried out over the showing as well as trenching and sampling. One grab sample gave 0.25% U3O8.
