Geological Details
The showing is located on the west side of Lower Foster Lake at Grand Rapids. In 1981, G. Ray mapped the lower Fposter Lake as the separation point between the Anderson Lake Inlier or foliated basement granitic rocks and unconformably overlying northeast-trending Wollaston Group semipelitic gneisses and schists which contain >25% biotite±hornblende (unit 3a). A sample from a coarse-grained biotite schist inclusion in biotite granite gave 199 ppm Cu and 4871 ppm Zn; 0.3 to 0.4% Zn has been reported in biotite according to the assessment report.
