Geological Details
Drill hole WOL-27-77 is located approximately 1.12 miles (1.8 km) due east of the JEB Zone or SMDI 1780. The showing lies within the boundaries of the Athabasca Formation. In this area, the Athabasca Formation unconformably overlies Wollaston Domain unit Wfn or a series of medium- to coarse-grained, well-foliated to gneissic biotite±hornblende syenogranites to granodiorites which contain inclusions and interlayers of amphibolite and pelite. Drill hole WOL-27-77 intersected 145.5 ft (44.3 m) of Athabasca Formation sandstones which contain a basal conglomeratic layer. This is underlain by 257.5 ft (78.5 m) of regolith which consists of altered meta-pelite and meta-arkose which contain narrow interlayers of graphitic schist and local pegmatitic segregations. The regolith is underlain by 147 ft (44.8 m) of fresh meta-pelite with numerous pegmatite segregations which contains minor pyrite. The uranium mineralization in this hole occurs in regolith green, chloritic (altered biotite), plagioclase-rich meta-pelite which underlies a red to green, coarse-grained pegmatite. A 1.0 ft (0.3 m) section of this unit (213.0 to 214.0 ft) assayed 0.127% U3O8 (2.54 pounds U3O8). The overall interval 212.0 to 216.0 ft returned 592 ppm U.

Exploration History
7/14/1989 Gulf Minerals of Canada Ltd., the first recorded owner of the region, staked Permit No. 8 in December 1967. In 1968, diamond drilling, geological reconnaissance, airborne radiometric and ground scintillometer surveys were completed (AF 64L-05-0002) followed in 1969 by ground radiometric and geological reconnaissance. An airborne geophysical survey 1970 (AF 64L05-0003) and ground investigation of anomalies (AF 64L05-0004) were done in 1970. Permit No. 8 lapsed in July of 1973. The area remained open until CBS 3502 was staked by Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. In September of 1974. Rotary drilling, ground EM and magnetic surveys, track-etch alphameter surveys as well as soil, lake water and lake sediment geochemistry were undertaken through 1975 to 1976 (AF 64L05-0024). Drill hole WOL 27-77, completed in 1977, located the mineralization which constitutes this showing (64L05-0025). Work continued with ground EM and magnetic surveys and diamond drilling over 1977 to 1978 (AF 64L05-0043) and with diamond drilling, ground EM surveys, gravity surveys, a lake bottom helium survey and below ice and ground alphameter surveys in 1979 (AF 64L05-0047). In August 1980, CBS 3502 became ML 5292. In October, 50% ownership of the property was transferred to Canadian Nickel Co. Ltd. Ground EM was carried out between 1980 and 1981 (AF 64L05-0074). In 1981, diamond drilling (AF 64L05-0076) was completed and ground EM and magnetic surveys followed in 1981-1982 (AF 64L05-0077). In 1982 further diamond drilling was done (AF 64L05-0078) and Asamera Inc. did a Coltran survey interpretation of the region (AF 64L05-0103). During 1982 to 1983, alphacard test surveys, soil sampling and alphameter surveys (AF 64L05-0082) were done and in 1983 enviromental baseline studies, boulder examination, muskeg sampling and a ground EM survey were carried out (AF 64L05-0083, 0084). Ground EM surveys were conducted over several grids in 1984 (AF 64L05-0085). The lease is still held by Canadian Occidental Petroleum and Canadian Nickel Co. Ltd. In the winter of 1984, a Canico - Canadian Occidental Petroleum joint venture completed ground VLF-EM surveys over ML 5291, 5292 and 5294 (formerly CBS 3501 to CBS 3505) (AF 64L05-0085). On 21 October 1990, Cogema Resources Inc. staked the showing area as CBS 7656. In 1997, Cogema completed drill hole R-202 on the Rainbow Central grid in the immediate showing area (AF 64L05-0145). Drill holes R-189 to -208 were completed in the general showing area to test undrilled anomalies. Drill hole R-193, which was completed approximately 1.0 mile (0.6 km) southeast of drill hole R-193, returned 500 ppm Ut between 88.3 and 88.8 m. In the same year, further anomaly drilling (holes R-209 to -214) was completed on the Rainbow Central grid (AF 64L05-0146). No significant mineralization was hit. Between 2001 and 2003, a Cogema Resources-JCU (Canada) Exploration Ltd. Flew a helicopter-borne TDEM and magnetic survey that covered the showing (AF 64L05-0152). In 2002, a partnership involving Cogema Resources (70%), Denison Mines Inc (22.5%), and OURD Canada (7.5%) flew an AeroTem survey that covered the showing (AF 64L05-Sw-0156).
