- SMDI 2005, or the 'AJ Occurrence' is located on the west shore of a small lake which is located 4.8 miles (7.7 km) east northeast of the northeast nend of Limp Lake.
The property lies within the Wollaston domain of the Churchill structural province of the Precambrian Shield. The concentration of radioactive boulders in this area consist primarily of pink to salmon red biotite-quartz pegmatite with minor interdispersed light grey garnet and/or cordierite biotite-quartz pegmatite boulders. The outcrop occurrences consist of pegmatite with the radioactivity confined to local spot highs.
The showing consists of 50 radioactive boulders and six outcrops within a 1 by 2 mile (1.6 by 3.2 km) square area which is coincident with a north northeast-trending monoclinal airborne magnetic high.
One radioactive molybdenite-garnet-biotite schist boulder, which returned from 0.13 to 0.46% U3O8 (0.11 to 0.39% U), occurs in the AJ grid. Uranium mineralization in this showing is associated with three main rock types:
(1) Pink to salmon red biotite quartz pegmatite which may exhibit one or a
combination of fracturing, shearing and silicification and locally
containing molybdenite.
(2) Light grey garnet and or cordierite biotite quartz pegmatite.
(3) Molybdenite-garnet-biotite schist.

- 7/18/1989 The showing is located within what was first staked as Gulf Minerals Co. Permit No. 12, staked 9 December 1968. That year they began an exploration program consisting of airborne EM, magnetic and GRS surveys (AF 64L12-0005). In 1970, they undertook a ground evaluation of the airborne anomalies using geology and geophysics (AF 64L12-0006). The next year they further evaluated the anomalies with geological and radiometric prospecting, detailed mapping, radon 222 sampling and ground geophysical surveys (AF 64L12-0008). Encouraging results were not obtained from Permit No. 12 and Gulf allowed its option to lapse 1 December 1971.
On 25 February 1977, SMDC staked CBS 4922 over the showing. Canadian Superior Exploration Ltd. acquired their Permit No. 1 around CBS 4922 on 31 March 1977. SMDC and Canadian Superior commenced exploration with prospecting, reconnaissance lake water and sediment sampling, ground VLF-EM surveys and geological mapping of radioactive occurrences within the properties (AF 64L12-0027). This work resulted in the discovery of the Medium Lake Occurrence and SMDI 1979, SMDI 1980, SMDI 2005, and SMDI 2006.
In 1978, Canadian Superior completed airborne EM, magnetic and radiometric surveys, an airborne multi-sensor evaluation, prospecting, geological mapping and detailed geological mapping of all showings (AF 64L12-0028).
In 1979, they completed diamond drilling, ground EM and magnetic surveys (AF 64L12-0045, 0046). The permit converted to MPP 1017 during this time.
MPP 1017 was allowed to lapse 1 July 1983 but CBS 4922 was still held. It remained part of SMDC's properties until 1 July 1985 when they allowed it to lapse.
