- Geological Details
- The showing is located on the south shore of Laonil Lake approximately 0.35 mile (0.56 km) east of the southwest tip of Laonil Lake. The showing is approximately 1.50 miles (2.4 km) southwest of the Laonil Island Vein Au Showing (SMDI 2232).
The showing consists of a series of mineralized quartz veins that form a mineralized stockwork hosted by a sheared portion of the Eyahpaise Pluton granodiorite close to the granodiorite contact with Pine Lake Group metasediments. G. Delaney mapped the rocks in the showing area as Laonil Lake Intrusive Complex unit Lbb or greenish dark grey, medium- to coarse-grained, gabbro with interlcalations and xenoliths of mafic metavolcanics. This unit is separated from the showing host rocks or the Eyahpaise granodiorite, to the south by a thin band of unit Pvb or Pine Lake Group mafic metavolcanics.
The visible mineralization within the quartz veins that constitute this showing are reported to be pyrite, chalcopyrite, cuprite, arsenopyrite, molybdenite and malachite and bornite staining. Grab samples returned:

- Exploration History
- 6/25/1991 In 1947, prospecting in the general area led to the discovery of the gold showing named the Seabee Deposit (SMDI. 0382). The Seabee Showing was staked by B. Corregon. The Seabee showing was acquired by the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada Ltd. (Cominco) in 1948. Between 1948 and 1972, Cominco drilled and trenched the various auriferous quartz veins that comprise the Seabee showings (AF 63M12-0002).
In 1972, Cominco undertook an exploration program to re-evaluate the Seabee property. Several new veins were located and, in 1974, several X-ray drill holes were completed to test these veins. The Seabee deposit was drill-evaluated again by Cominco in 1982 to 1983.
Claude Resources Inc. acquired a 100% interest in the Seabee property from Cominco on 27 April 1984 as SEABEE claims 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17 and BC Claims 3 and 4 (ML 4781 to ML 4790 respectively).
On 27 June 1985, Claude Resources Incorporated staked the general showing area as CBS 7592.
In 1986, Claude completed reconnaissance prospecting, rock sampling and panning over CBS 7592 (AF 63M12-0028). During the completion of this work, C. Preston discovered the mineralization described as SMDI 2264. Sample results are given above.
In 1987, Claude and Placer Dome completed an agreement to joint venture explore CBS 7592. Placer completed a regional lake sediment survey over the disposition (AF 63M12-0031) and World Geoscience Corporation flew a high resolution VLF-EM and magnetic survey which covered the showing (AF 63M05-0030).
In 1988, Claude Resources completed a fixed wing VLF-EM and magnetic survey that covered the showing (AF 63M12-0033). Placer Dome completed a reconnaissance project of prospecting, regional bulk till sampling and landsat thermal imager lineament analyses that covered the showing (AF 63M12-0035). Gold values from bulk till sampling at the showing site varied from 5 to 170 ppb.
In 1990, G. Delaney geologically mapped the showing area for the Saskatchewan Geological Survey.
