- The Gina Lake Gold Showing is located near the southwest end of the northwest shore of Gina Lake - a small lake located 2.01 miles (3.24 km) due east of the northeast tip of Roundish Lake. The showing is located 1.5 miles (2.41 km) southwest of the Fork Lake Gold Mine (SMDI. 2066).
The Gina Lake Showing is located along a system of shears that crosscut the contact between andesite and a small dioritic body. Both the andesite and diorite host minor disseminated pyrite and magnetite.
The predominant structural trend in the showing area is to the northeast with a steep dip to the northwest. The rocks that host the showing have been cut by a series shear zones which parallel the local schistocity and gneissosity and by a series of vertical to near vertical lineaments and joints, some of which exhibit slickensides. The joints strike 040° to 050°.
The original Gina Showing, which was exposed over a strike length of 20 feet (6.1 m) and across a width of 15 to 20 feet (4.6 to 6.1 m), consists of a series of vuggy, parallel, discontinous, narrow, pyritic quartz veins hosted within a series of shear zones that cut the andesite-diorite contact. The mineralized quartz veins strike 050° and dip 60°NW. Initial grab samples taken by G. Colray returned between 0.13 and 0.076 oz./ton Au and initial soil sample surveys hinted at a parallel structure to the southeast that extended under Gina Lake. Diamond drilling of the showing returned the following results:

The 1986 to 1987 drill program split the Gina Showing into the Gina A and B zones. The Main or Gina A Zone is hosted within a northeast-trending shear zone that cuts the andesite-diorite contact. The A Zone mineralization occurs within both rock types along the shear. The Gina B Zone is hosted wholly within the sheared diorite in the hanging wall of the Gina A or Main Zone Shear.

- Exploration History
- 11/7/1991 In 1961, A. Morris geologically mapped the showing area for Saskatchewan Energy and Mines.
In 1977, SMDC flew airborne INPUT and magnetic surveys over the showing area (AF 73P16-0022). In 1980, Golden Rule Resources Ltd. was issued MPP 1112. Golden Rule completed a reconnaissance lake sediment survey over MPP 1112 (AF 73P16-0037). In 1981, the property was optioned to Energy Reserves Canada Ltd.. In 1982, a SMDC entered into a joint venture agreement with these two companies and took over operatorship of the property. The partners completed reconnaissance lake sediment surveys (AF 73P16-0039), geological mapping, prospecting and sampling (AF 73P16-0038) on the property.
In 1983, Energy Reserves sold their interest to Goldsil Mining and Milling Inc. and SMDC completed ground VLF-EM and magnetic surveys over various grids on MPP 1112 (AF 73P16-0062). Further mapping, prospecting and soil sampling were completed on the property (AF 73P16-0063). This work resulted in the discovery of the W B Showing or SMDI. 2314.
Later in 1983, the immediate showing area was staked as S-102871 by Mona Sjolander and the claim was optioned to Colray Resources Inc.
In 1984, D.J. Thomas geologically mapped the Star Lake area for the Saskatchewan Geological Survey.
In 1985, Colray Resources completed an airborne VLF-EM and magnetic survey over S-102871 (AF 73P16-0067). This work was followed up by prospecting, mapping and sampling. The work resulted in the discovery of the Gina Lake Showing. The showing was mapped, trenched and sampled and one drill hole was completed on the showing (AF 73P16-0066).
In 1986, SMDC flew an VLF-EM and magnetic survey that covered the showing (AF 73P-0006). Colray Resources completed ground VLF-EM, magnetic and biogeochemical surveys over the Gina Showing (AF 73P16-0082) and drilled three holes on the showing (AF 73P16-0081).
