Geological Details
The trench which exposes the K Gold Showing is located at the base of a peninsula in the south shore of a small lake which is located 2.4 km (1.5 miles) north of the north tip of the North Channel of Amisk Lake. The showing is 335 m (0.21 mile) southeast of the Graham No. 3 deposit and 300 m (0.19 mile) northwest of the Graham No. 2 deposit. The trench occurs at grid coordinates 10+70S and 73+00W. The showing area, as mapped by Byers and Dahlstrom, consists of Missi Series conglomerate, greywacke, and arkose on a large drag fold on the northeast limb of the Magdalen Lake syncline. Shearing is common, and locally, very strong. The showing occurs on a northwest-trending outcrop of arkose/feldspathic wacke which is dominantly comprised of quartz and feldspar with lesser amounts of biotite, chlorite, and sericite. The wacke contains narrow interbeds of poorly sorted, polymictic conglomerate which is made up of pebbles and cobbles of Amisk Group rock plus red to black chert pebbles and red to orange jasper pebbles in a silt- to sand-sized arkose-composition matrix. Numerous 0.1 to 2 m wide basic dykes, which have been altered to chlorite-carbonate schist, crosscut the outcrop. The showing proper consists of a 2 to 3 m (6.6 to 9.8 ft) wide pocket of 10 to 20% by volume, M-folded quartz-feldspar-ankerite veins within the host arkose/wacke. The discovery grab sample of the up to 3% disseminated pyrite and associated non-visible gold within the veining returned 0.164 oz./st Au. Four channel samples taken across the mineralized veining returned the following values: SAMPLE OZ./ST SAMPLE NUMBER AU DESCRIPTION ___________________________________________________ BT8T-227 0.102 qtz-ank-feld veining: 1% pyrite BT8T-228 0.191 qtz-ank-feld veining: trace pyrite BT8T-229 0.060 qtz-ank-feld veining: tr-3% pyrite BT8T-230 0.144 qtz-ank-feld veining: trace pyrite The Al Gold Showing, which was discovered on CBS 8867, is located 275 m (0.17 mile) north northwest of the K Gold Showing at grid 5-87 coordinates 75+23W and 7+62S. The showing consists of a 135°/78°NE-trending, 15 to 25 cm (5.9 to 9.8 inch) wide, irregular quartz-ankerite vein which hosts disseminated pyrite mineralization. Grab sample number BT90-1101 returned 0.434 oz/ton Au. The Ken Showing, which was also discovered on CBS 8867, is located 840 m (0.52 mile) southeast of the K Gold Showing at grid 5-87 coordinates 65+90W and 13+53S. The showing consists of auriferous quartz-ankerite-feldspar veining within a 137°/90°-trending, 317°85°SW-plunging, 2 to 3 m (6.6 to 9.8 ft) wide chloritic shear located near the contact between feldspar crystal porphyry tuff to porphyry and Missi Group conglomerate. Minor pyrite and local malachite staining is associated with the veining. Grab sample number BT90-5001 returned 0.306 oz/ton Au.

Exploration History
11/3/1992 The showing area was first staked as the CHICHAGOFF claim to cover the Graham 1 and 2 Occurrences or SMDI 0296. These occurrences were trenched, drilled, and a 32 ft (9.8 m) shaft was completed on Graham Deposit No. 1 between 1914 and 1932. It is reported that some gold was produced by a 10 ton per day mill installed on the property by W. Bowie, but no production figures are recorded. A diamond drill program was rumored to have been completed on the property in 1932. One drill location was found near the Graham No. 2 Deposit. By 1973, the showing area was covered by ROD claim No. 2. Between 1973 and 1975, R. McKenzie and J. Stewart completed 1 trench on the claim (AF 63L16-0054). On 1 August 1982, the No. 1 and No. 2 zones were staked as S-102861, the Graham No. 3 and No. 4 zones were staked as S-98853, and the immediate showing area was staked as S-102860 by Jim Campbell and Rod Mckenzie. In 1983, SMDC had surrounded the ROD claims by CBS 8847. In this year, SMDC completed detailed geologic mapping and soil sampling of grid 4-83 located on CBS 8867 to the east of the showing (AF 63L16-0090). In 1984, SMDC completed four drill holes on this grid (AF 63L16-0099). Drill hole WV4-2 discovered the mineralization described as SMDI 2227. In 1986, SMDC completed forest litter and tree bark biogeochemical surveys over the showings (AF 63L16-0111). SMDC also completed reconnaissance geological mapping, prospecting, lithochemical rock sampling, soil sampling, and trench channel sampling on the Graham Occurrences (AF 63L16-0112). Between 1986 and 1987, Cameco completed ground VLF-EM, magnetic, gradiometer, and IP/resistivity surveys over the showing area (AF 63L16-0121). In 1987, Cameco completed a wacker overburden and soil survey over the Graham Occurrences and drill holes BT7-02 to 07 were completed to test the zones at a 20 m depth along strike (AF 63L16-0120). The Graham No. 1 and No. 2 veins were stripped, detail mapped, and grab and channel sampled (AF 63L16-0122). Detailed lithogeochemical sampling and prospecting resulted in the discovery of the K Gold Showing. The discovery sample returned 0.164 oz./st Au. In 1988, a Cameco (50%)-Vista Mines (50%) partnership completed overburden stripping, mapping, and channel sampling on the the K Gold Showing (AF 63L16-0126). The better results arising out of of this work are reported above. In 1989, Cameco completed grid geological mapping, prospecting and soil sampling on CBS 8867 (grid 5-87), which is adjacent to S-102860 and S-102861 (AF 63L16-0139). This work resulted in the discovery of the Al and Ken gold showings.
