Geological Details
The V.G. Gold Showing is located on a point of land midway between two bays on the north shore of Berven Lake. The showing is approximately 0.04 km (0.25 mile) east of the Blue Showing (SMDI 2426) at 1988 grid location 50+95N and 13+95E. The showing area is underlain by the northeast trending La Ronge Domain Central Metavolcanic Belt supracrustal rocks that consist of mafic to intermediate pyroclastics and flows. The supracrustals are of lower to middle amphibloite grade (Thomas, 1985). This assemblage has been intruded by the composite granodioritic Berven Lake Pluton. Locally, this suite of rocks is cut by pre-plutonic and post-plutonic mafic dykes and sills that range in composition from porphyritic diorite through gabbro to pyroxenite/hornblendite. The Teacher's Point area is a drift-covered area which is felt to be underlain by Unit G2b or the biotite granodiorite and quartz monzonite ± hornblende phase of the Berven Lake Pluton. In the summer of 1988, a regional mapping, prospecting, and sampling program completed on the Berven Lake grid discovered a frost-heaved pegmatitic diorite boulder which hosted malachite, azurite, chalcopyrite, bornite, and covellite mineralization associated with quartz veining. Geochemical samples at this site returned up to 0.015 oz/ton Au. Trenching below the boulder uncovered the in-situ mineralization referred to as the V.G. Showing. The showing consists of a zone of quartz pod and vein (stockwork) within a sericitized, silicified and hematized, sheared quartz diorite. The stockwork trends 080°/30°NW. Trace to 0.5% pyrite, up to 2% malachite, minor covellite, and traces of native copper are associated with the quartz veining. The best chip sample returned 0.025 oz/ton Au over 0.9 m. Initial sampling returned the following values: SAMPLE PPB OZ/TON SAMPLE NUMBER AU AU DESCRIPTION _____________________________________________________________________________ BR80-0641 860 ----- 110 cm chip: iron stained qtz pods: py, malachite

Exploration History
2/3/1993 In 1959, the area around the Road Showing was geologically mapped for the Saskatchewan Geological Survey by W.J. Pearson and E. Froese. In 1961, A. Morris re-mapped the NTS block at 1" to 4 miles. By 1977, SMDC completed an airborne INPUT and magnetic survey that covered the showing area (AF 73P16-0022). On March 5, 1980, Golden Rule Resources was granted MPP 1112. In 1981, Energy Reserves Canada Ltd. optioned MPP 1112 and in 1982 SMDC novated into the ERC-GRR agreement and took over as operator. In 1981-82, SMDC completed a regional program over MPP 1112 that included lake sediment sampling and a geotechnical compliation (AF 73P16-0037, 0038 and 0039). In 1983, Energy Reserves sold their interest to Goldsil Mining and Milling Inc. and SMDC completed further prospecting, regional mapping, and sampling (AF 73P16-0065). On 20 December 1984, SMDC staked the showing area as CBS 7423 (within MPP 1112). In the following year, D.J. Thomas mapped the area for the Saskatchewan Geological Survey. In 1986, SMDC (50%) - Troymin Resources Ltd. (50%) completed a helicopter-borne VLF-EM and magnetic survey (AF 73P-0014) and follow-up prospecting, geological mapping, rock and boulder sampling, stripping, and ground VLF-EM and magnetic surveys (AF 73P-0007). This work discovered the Road Zone Showing. In 1987, the joint venture partnership completed geological mapping, prospecting, stripping, trenching, and sampling of the Berven Lake grid (AF 73P15-0076). This work resulted in the discovery of the Blue Showing or SMDI 2426. In 1988, drill holes BR8-8 and -9 were completed to test the Blue Showing (AF 73P15-0084) and a ground magnetic survey was completed to the north and east of the showing on the hailstone grid (AF 73P15-0085). That summer a partnership involving Cameco (50%) and Troymin Resources Ltd. (50%) completed reconnaissance geological mapping, prospecting, and rock, bulk till, and lake sediment sampling on the Berven Lake grid to the east of the Blue Showing (AF 73P15-0086). This work resulted in the discovery of the V.G. Showing mineralization. The showing was stripped, trenched, detail mapped, and sampled. In 1989, the partnership completed drill hole BR89-8 on the V.G. Showing (AF 73P15-0081). The showing intersection returned 65 ppb Au over 0.6 m. In 1991, Cameco completed geological mapping, prospecting, and rock sampling which covered the showing area (AF 73P-0020). On 1 July 1995, Cameco re-staked the showing as S-105160. In 1996, Cameco completed geological mapping, prospecting, and rock, bulk till and lake sediment sampling in the immediate showing area (AF 73P15-0103). The claim lapsed on 1 December, 1998.
